Northern Arizona University’s entry-level Occupational Therapy (OT) Doctorate Program invites applications for a full-time, 12-month open rank clinical faculty appointment. This position will also include an administrative assignment as the Site Coordinator for a weekend OT program and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the program. The OT Department expects all applicants to 1) demonstrate excellence in student-related activities of teaching, advising and scholarly mentoring; 2) be engaged in scholarly activities that develop and expand the knowledge base of OT and transform practice; and 3) provide service to the OT profession, the community, the university, college and/or department.

Initially, the primary function of the Site Coordinator will be to create and manage the accreditation requirements to obtain approval for the program expansion to offer a weekend OT program. During this time period, the Site Coordinator will also teach in the traditional OT program. Once accreditation approval is received to implement the weekend OT program, this position will be responsible for the administration of the program and implementation of the curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications:

For the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor:

  • 3 years or more of experience as an occupational therapist
  • Eligible for OT licensure in Arizona
  • An earned doctoral degree in OT or related field from an institution regionally accredited by the USDE
  • Experience with administration and management of a team and/or organizational initiatives
  • Experience with accreditation agencies
  • Evidence of developing a scholarly agenda

For the rank of Associate Clinical Professor: All of the above, and

  • Prior appointment as Associate Clinical Professor or similar role; OR
  • 6 or more years full-time experience as a faculty in the Assistant Clinical Professor role and documented experience that aligns with NAU OT promotion criteria for Associate Clinical Professor

For the rank of Full Clinical Professor: All of the above, and

  • Prior appointment as Full Clinical Professor or similar role; OR
  • 6 or more years full-time experience as a faculty in the Associate Clinical Professor role and documented experience that aligns with NAU OT promotion criteria for Full Clinical Professor
