We currently have a full-time days opening (Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, including some weekend) at SHC Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ. 

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, administration, and oversight of evidence-based occupational therapy services provided to individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations. Uses specialized skills to promote goals of prevention of dysfunction, restoration of function and/or reversal of the progression of pathology in order to enhance quality of movement and daily living skills for individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations. Develops and updates appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family to meet the needs of the patients served to assist in returning them to their prior level of function. Acts in accordance with physician referral guidelines, state and national organizational standards, regulatory agencies, and established departmental policies and procedures.  

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate of the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.  They must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.  They must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s departmental policies and procedures. Communicates in a concise, tactful manner with physicians, co-workers, caregivers, family members, patients, and other healthcare providers. Embodies and demonstrates strong customer service skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university approved by the AOTA,
  • Arizona State licensure.
  • Acute Adult IP experience preferred.
