A Continuing Education Program Sponsored by the Tucson District of ArizOTA:
About the Program: Adaptive switches can enable individuals with disabilities to control electronic and battery operated devices. A switch can be used to turn a device on and off, control some aspect of the
environment, operate a toy or a game or access a computer. The presentation will include lecture, demonstration and hands-on lab experience.

Program Objectives:
Through participation in this educational session participants will:
• Recognize the types of switches that are available and understand how they work.
• Understand how to select a switch for a client and how to position a switch to maximize a client’s functional abilities
• Identify activities for clients of different ages and abilities that can be controlled by switches.
• Experience a variety of switches, analyze how they might be used with clients, and try several switch controlled activities.

Cost: OTs $30 for ArizOTA Members, $60 for Non-Members (postmarked by April 19)
OTAs $24 for ArizOTA Members, $48 for Non-Members (postmarked by April 19)
